Like CONWEAVER, Threedy GmbH is a spin-off of Fraunhofer IGD in Darmstadt. With its instant3Dhub, it provides a platform for Visual-Computing-as-a-Service, which significantly simplifies the integration and work using native 3D design and engineering data in any software environment. Under the claim "any data, any size, any device - instantly", instant3Dhub allows the integration, fully automated visualization and processing of any complex data across any end devices - workstation, tablets, smartphones or HMDs - and platforms, from browsers to native environments to game engines.
The plug-and-play integration in CONWEAVER Linksphere thus allows the reference-based integration and visualization of PLM data, for example parts or groups of parts, without the use of a CAD system. In interaction with the contextual knowledge from Linksphere, complex facts and relations thus become even more holistic and easier to understand.
Open interfaces also enable engineers to evaluate information directly from the native systems in their interaction and to draw conclusions. As a result, the development process becomes more transparent and costly errors and risks are avoided.
Our common goal is to dynamically link data across silos and business units. By integrating both technologies, we take the automated processing of 3D and business data to the next level and create significant added value for each individual engineer or workplace.
Christian Stein, Co-Founder & CEO, Threedy
Threedy, a spinoff of the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD based in Darmstadt, develops and markets the Visual Computing as a Service platform instant3Dhub.
The proprietary technology enables customers to exploit the full potential of their 3D data in the form of arbitrarily large data sets across all application and device classes as well as directly linked to business data and sensors. The platform primarily supports visualization, VR and AR (virtual reality/augmented reality) applications initially for the automotive, aerospace and energy sectors, as well as for users of BIM (building information modeling) solutions.
instant3Dhub can be easily integrated into existing PLM systems. It provides a wide range of functions, including distributed collaboration in engineering processes, VR and AR applications in assembly lines and repair shops, tracking of moving objects using 3D models, and offline operation of applications when stable online connections cannot be guaranteed. Leading German automotive companies are already working with Threedy's flexible platform.
