Digitalization forces companies to become ever more efficient and innovative. To succeed, using data is playing an increasingly important role, especially in times of exponential data growth. These challenges are intensified by the rising demands for traceability of processes and data.

In short, for efficient data handling in a large and historically grown company like Continental, there is a need for holistic, efficient management of data throughout its entire lifecycle - corporate data governance.

For this to be successful, data and its contexts retrieved from disconnected silos must be transparent at a central point. This is the only way to centrally control and monitor data.

CONWEAVER’s Linksphere platform automatically links heterogeneous data across system and process boundaries in a knowledge graph. It thus serves as the central data layer for Continental's corporate data governance strategy.

The Corporate Data Governance project creates data and process transparency across numerous data silos. For example, it enables cross-system reports and early warning systems for data governance and quality management. The cross-silo semantic search and the additional mapping of the linked data as a knowledge graph make it possible to understand and reconstruct interrelationships quickly and form the basis for meeting existing in- and external data obligations. Particularly within the framework of the International Material Data System (IMDS) as well as for promoting innovations.
