Challenges of Data Driven Business Processes
PI Munich 2016 brings together the manufacturing industry to explore the process, people and technological challenges faced when building a profitable data-led business strategy (PI Munich 2016).
We are eager to listen to Achim Besel (Engineering Cross Domain Services) of Robert Bosch who will give insight to the project “ePLM Navigator” (March 8, 14:15 hrs, room 2). He will talk about the intelligent linking of approximately 170 data sources deriving from various business domains, the challenge of a never ending necessity for adaptations and to maintain a flexible system as well as the creation of a vivid net. Following is the abstract for a sneak peek.
Collaboration across Engineering Domains & Divisions – efficiently
BOSCH started an initiative to create an attractive IT work Station for the future and make IT application more appealing. Work anywhere – efficiently!
In keeping with this initiative, a project was started to simplify engineering collaboration & traceability across system and organizational borders along the product lifecycle. BOSCH engineers will get information about their requirements, designs, simulation results and manufacturing documents in a new modern engineering view: easy-to-use, fast and reproducible. In which of the numerous underlying software systems the information is actually stored becomes less important to the end-users. Since 12.2015, a first version of the solution was released.
This session will cover the following topics:
- Today’s & upcoming challenges
- Our vision about a modern engineering workplace
- How we simplify collaboration for engineers
- How we make information work for end-users
- How it looks like – Live demo.
- Further implementations based on the linking technology: CONWEAVER
