Prof. Alfred Katzenbach

Managing Director Katzenbach Executive Consulting

Above all, Professor Katzenbach is best known for his work and leadership at Daimler, at last as its Director „Information Technology Research and Development Management Mercedes-Benz Cars“. Since 2002 he holds a lectureship position at the University of Stuttgart for "Information and Knowledge Processing in product development".

With Katzenbach Executive Consulting he now supports companies and managers regarding corporate management, strategy development as well as organizational and change management. All along he stayed true to his “homefield” of Engineering IT while supporting the interests of the international automobile industry in questions of IT standardization.

Beyond CONWEAVER Professor Katzenbach holds close ties to Darmstadt, the „City of Science“; graduating with a degree in engineering from the Technical University in 1980, the former president of the local ProSTEP Verein is now one of its honorary members. Further, he is a member of the board of trustees of the Darmstadt based Fraunhofer IGD, of which CONWEAVER is a spin-off, of course.

Dr. Martin U. Schefter

Born in 1964 in Berlin, Dr. Martin U. Schefter studied and obtained his PhD at his hometown’s Technical University. As a top manager he assisted and took responsibility in the initial set-up, further development, growth and integration of various technology companies. During a sabbatical in 2012 he supported young, upcoming technology start-ups in that matter.

As a CEO, Dr. Martin U. Schefter has been responsible for Strategic Business Development, Investments, Development, Production, Product Management as well as Marketing and Sales. Along with his membership of the supervisory board, Martin Schefter also functions as one of CONWEAVER’s investors through schefter capital. Thus, making him the ideal contact and counsellor in many ways.  

Reinhard Hamburger

Management Director C-FOR-U Business Coaching

After graduating as Diploma Engineer in Telecommunications Reinhard Hamburger worked for Hewlett-Packard und Agilent Technologies for 27 years, mostly in global business responsibility, occupying General Manager and Managing Director positions. Based in Germany, he set up business units in electronic measurement technology and acted throughout Europe, North America and Asia. In addition, he has been active in various supervisory and advisory boards as well as commissions for many years.

In 2007 followed the establishment of »C-FOR-U - Reinhard Hamburger - Business Coaching«. He mainly advises entrepreneurs of small and medium-sized companies in the areas of business management and strategy.


Richard Riff

PLM Consultant & Technical Fellow at Ford

Equipped with a B.S., M.S., and D.Sc. in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering, having held professor positions at the Georgia Institute of Technology (USA) and at the Technion Institute of Technology in Israel, and serving in various leadership duties at the Ford Motor Company, Dr. Richard Riff has engineering and manufacturing in his blood, so to speak. Even after retiring from the Ford Motor Company he continues to consult to the PLM industry and the automotive companies.

Starting his career at Ford in 1989 as a CAE Technical Specialist, Richard was later named the Chief Engineer of Mechanical Design/Automotive Component Division. He established Ford’s C3P program (CAx and Product Information Management) as its Director and ran it for several years. In his role as the Director of IT, professor Riff may also be entitled chief architect for Ford’s information backbone which includes all the major processes like bill of material (BOM), configuration management, order fulfillment, and order to delivery. In addition, he was involved with the advanced study and research on new PLM systems and engineering software.

Richard is one of the Technical Fellows at Ford providing understandable, technically sound advice to the CTO, the CIO and to the company executive management as a whole. He has authored more than seventy technical publications and is an internationally recognized authority across CAx disciplines, Manufacturing, Engineering, and PLM.
